Gentle Teaching Stories:

“I aspire to be a better person, more caring and loving.”

September 28, 2023/inBlog, Employment, Gentle Teaching, Stories

Gentle Teaching has transformed me as the person I am and as the person I aspire to be by making me an overall more understanding and caring person. I bring the aspects of Gentle Teaching into every part of my life by being mindful and making sure everyone I interact with feels safe, loved and respected and accepted regardless if I’m supporting, if I am at school, or with friends and family.

“The tools of Gentle Teaching: our hands, our eyes, our words and our presence, are tools that I bring into any relationship that I have in my life.”

I does not matter if I am supporting, spending time with people I am closest to or meeting new people, I always try and be mindful of the tools of Gentle Teaching. I aspire that one day the tools of Gentle Teaching will just be second nature for me, being mindful in the way I present myself and talk to people is very important to me because it helps people feel safe and comfortable.

The more I practice Gentle Teaching in my everyday life the easier it is for me to not just use the tools in mind, but for the tools to just became part of who I am and I am loving the person I become.

“For my three amazing years being part of the Creative Options Regina team and family it has definitely changed my way of thinking for the better.”

I know that everyone is fighting their own battles regardless of how their life looks from the outside. I have developed a greater sense of unconditional love, something I thought I had an abundance of before. Since getting the honour to spend many hours a week with individuals I serve I have been able to show and have been shown in return an unconditional love I didn’t know was possible, and with this I am able to unconditionally love all those around me.

I now base my relationships on unconditional love and I know that as I grow as a person and become older and more experienced in every aspect of my life I aspire to being more loving and more unconditional.

“Gentle Teaching aspires me to be a better person, to be more caring and loving.”

Every day I create a culture of gentleness wherever I am. I aspire to better myself and better those around me. I hope to one day be successful because I am a kind and caring person and I know for a fact that I am that way today and will continue to be that way because of Gentle Teaching. And for that I am extremely grateful.

Unity Sweepstakes is back, with an exciting new twist! 🎉

COR is proud to continue our partnership with Unity Sweepstakes, a fundraising initiative that empowers organizations across Canada while giving participants the chance to win big and give back!

Here's the new twist:

Every week, one lucky winner takes home a guaranteed $5,000 cash prize. Plus, you'll have a chance to unlock the Progressive Vault for even more cash! When you purchase your tickets, you'll choose a 5-switch combination. If you're selected as the weekly winner, your combination will be matched against the Vault code.

The more switches you match in order, the more of the Vault you unlock:
🔐 1 match = 10%
🔐 2 matches = 20%
🔐 3 matches = 30%
🔐 4 matches = 50%
🔐 5 matches = 100%

And here's the exciting part: if the Vault isn't fully unlocked, the remaining prize money rolls over and grows for the next draw!

Every ticket purchased in support of COR helps us continue creating opportunities for connection, inclusion, and community.

🗓️ The deadline for this week's draw is June 16, with the winner announced on June 17.

🎟️ Visit the link in our bio to get your tickets today!

Thank you to Queen City Pride for recognizing and celebrating the individuals helping create positive change in our community.

🥏 ☀️ Discs flying on a beautiful day outdoors!

Did you know Douglas Park has an incredible disc golf course? A crew heads out weekly to enjoy fresh air, great company, and a little friendly competition.

So much fun watching everyone connect, laugh, and stay active together!

“That hardwiring is disrupted. It’s kind of taught out of us sometimes. When we’re not safe, then we’re not really connected & engaged.”

For Param, the best part of this work is creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.

As an Adventurer at COR, he helps plan, facilitate and connect people with community events and activities. Beyond the excitement of the activities, it’s the relationships and connections that help people feel safe and welcomed that make this work meaningful to him.
