“A culture of gentleness is going to be gentle no matter what. It is not primarily a question of working; it is a question of expressing love in all of our interactions. Being kind transcends all other human interactions. It is not something that has to be proven. It is our duty to be gentle.” - Dr. John J. McGee

Prairie Sexuality & Disability Conference | SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT: Dr. Karyn Harvey & Vik Aurora

We couldn't be happier to have Keynote speakers Dr. Karyn Harvey and Vik Aurora (@helloitsme_app) joining us all the way from the United States to share their presentation, "Love in the 21st Century". Their workshop will explore the effects of loneliness and venues for connections. It will provide theoretical support as well as practical solutions for the dilemma of isolation in the world of disabilities.

Karyn and Vik will also be showcasing the app they developed, called "Hello, It's Me", which revolutionizes the way we connect within the IDD Community. “Hello, It’s Me” strives to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness in people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Check out their site to learn more!
