Chris makes sure every person who walks into the Regina Food Bank’s BMO Asahtowikamik Community Food Hub finds shelves and fridges that look their best.

He started with one shift a week and loved it so much he asked for more. Now he works two afternoons a week, and Stephanie Wenger, manager of the Food Hub, says his attention to detail stands out: “He will find the one mouldy lemon in the bag, and he will take that out and make sure it looks good and perfect.”

Austin keeps food moving to the people who rely on the Regina Food Bank ( @reginafoodbank ) every day.

Box-making is his specialty, and it's essential. "We can't deliver any food to our clients without the boxes," says Jered Kirkland, Director of Operations. When Austin is away, it takes three volunteers to make the boxes he can do in half a day.

We’re kicking off our 4to40 series for DEAM with Nick, who has a lot to love about working at SaskTel ( @sasktel ), from the atmosphere and his colleagues to being the Kindness Ambassador!

For Nick, his coworkers aren’t just a team, they feel like family. He values being treated equally, being himself and feeling like he belongs at work.

It’s clear Nick has made an impact on his team as well. Margie, from SaskTel’s Clerical Support Services, describes him as a mentor, a team player and their “sunshine on a cloudy day.” ☀️

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM)!

Throughout DEAM, we’re celebrating inclusive employment and the people, employers and workplaces helping make it possible across our community.

Through 4to40, our inclusive employment initiative with the Campus For All, University of Regina ( @uofreginaofficial ), we’re proud to connect people experiencing disability with meaningful employment opportunities and work alongside employers to build more inclusive workplaces.

All month long, we’ll be sharing stories from employees and employers who show us what inclusive employment can look like.
