A Two-Spirit Cree physician from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Dr. Makokis is a nationally recognized leader in Indigenous health, transgender care, and inclusive healthcare. Through his work, he brings together Indigenous and Western approaches to medicine while championing compassion, equity, and community.

Known to many for his inspiring win on Season 7 of The Amazing Race Canada alongside his husband, Dr. Makokis continues to be a powerful advocate for authenticity, resilience, and meaningful change.

Mental Health First Aid - Supporting Youth facilitator Dillon shares why this training is so valuable and how it helps caregivers recognize the signs of a mental health problem, start supportive conversations, and respond with confidence and compassion.

Just as importantly, the course reminds us that we can't pour from an empty cup. By emphasizing self-care alongside supporting others, participants leave with the tools to care for both the young people in their lives and themselves.

A psychologist, author, and internationally recognized trainer, Dr. Harvey has spent more than 35 years supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A leading voice in trauma-informed care, she has trained professionals across the U.S. and Canada and received multiple national awards for her contributions to the field.

At PSD CON '26, Dr. Harvey will present The Right to Parent, exploring the rights, challenges, and supports surrounding parenting for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
